The People who the colonizers wrote out of history. Said they were dead. DNA shows 61% of Puerto Ricans have Taino origins. The Taino had a matrilineal system of kinship, descent, and inheritance. Spiritual life was connected to female being. Male being too. One of the first things the Spanish did was capture and sell Taino women. And steal Taino women to be sex slaves on their first voyage back to Spain. But. The Taino Live. The Taino ARE. And are today. And are still colonized.
